Our river table workshops have been a defining feature of Bohri Ali, and hold an extremely special place in our heart. Every single workshop is a life-changing experience for not only the participants but also for us. It is such an incredible experience watching the flow of emotions, artistic ability and community create something so unique.
We push our participants into an environment like never before. They are pushed to think with their hands and explore the world of resin, art and creativity.
We get to meet some of the best people through these workshops. It is our attendees that make workshop weekends our highlight weekends at Bohri Ali. Every workshop brings with it a host of diverse, cool and fascinating people- some veteran artists, some new hobbyists all pooling in their energy to learn, grow and discover.
Interior designers and architects, meet IT engineers and students, craftsmen meet businessmen. Somehow, they all synergise, and enter an intense space of Doing!
We get to interact with them and hear their stories. We watch them, over the course of 48 hours make something we know they will cherish forever.
People fly down from all over the country to spend two days engineering a handmade River table using Hakson’s favourite materials: Resin and wood. Starting from step 0, participants work on the wood piece to prep and polish it. The visualise their pigments. The calculate their proportions. They put in between 12 to 14 hours of hardcore and intense labour to ultimately create a world-class finished product.
This workshop, however, is not the end but the beginning of their journey with resin. They ask us questions. They learn about processes and tools so they can ultimately use resin in a multitude of ways and create beautiful products. For themselves, their homes or even for the rest of the world around them.
The river table workshop experience can admittedly be overwhelming. It is most definitely not for everyone. But for the ones who do show up, go back with the spirit of #domore, motivated, inspired and ready to create.
