Here is the step by step instructions to make your own marble finish resin counter-top.
MATERIALS USED
- Haksons Resin & Hardener -Ultra Clear High Gloss Epoxy Resin Coat -Grade I
- Haksons Opaque Pigment Black and White
- Acrylic Paint – Black
- Oval Paint Brush
- Heat Gun
- Powder Free Disposable Glove
- Plastic Container

PROCESS
Step 1: Using a large oval paintbrush, paint the base of your plywood with two coats of the black acrylic paint.
Step 2: With the help of an area calculator, determine the amount of resin you will need and mix the Haksons Grade I resin accordingly. Combine most of your mixture with the black concentrated pigment and a small amount with the white.
Step 3: Pour the black resin mixture onto your plywood, to ensure that the white does not completely mix with the background wait for at least 10 minutes before you continue.
Step 4: After 1 – 15 minutes, or until the base resin is a little less runny, using a wooden stick create thick and thin lines with the white resin mixture. Once you’re happy with the composition, move the heat gun over the same areas to create the dispersed marble effect. Cover the plywood and keep it aside for 24 hours before installing.
The Resin Marble Top is ready.
