Cracks and gaps in the wood look beautiful but what looks more beautiful and unique is wood filled with resin, you can apply this technique to fill natural holes, cutouts, and carved woodwork.
Materials Used:
- Haksons Resin & Hardener -Ultra Clear High Gloss Epoxy Resin Coat -Grade I
- Haksons Glass Colours – Blue & Green
- Packing Tape
- Masking Tape
- Powder Free Disposable Glove
- Plastic Container
- Plastic Measuring Spoons
- Wooden Sticks
- Wooden Furniture
Process:
Step 1: Clean the voids/gaps of the piece you want to fill with resin for a completely dustfree surface.
Step 2: On the underside, cover the surface with one layer of packing tape and one layer of masking tape ensuring you’ve secured the void completely from end to end. Make sure there are no leaks and the covered area is sealed properly.
Step 3: Mix your resin on the basis of the area and depth you wish to fill. Glass colours are perfect for this project since they create a more translucent finish allowing the light to pass through the colours once set, resulting in a beautiful effect. Now pour the cured resin, one colour from one side and the other from the opposite to create a seamless ombre effect.
Step 4: After 24 hours turn your piece over and simply pull the tape off! The packing tape acts as a perfect barrier and once the resin in contact cures it’s very easy to peel away from it too.
Beautiful and Unique wooden piece is ready.
