We have a lot of customers across India that purchase Haksons High Gloss\u00a0Epoxy resin to cast into different shapes for a variety of applications. We have put together some tips for you to help you complete your casting projects. Hope this helps you on your way.<\/p>\n

Haksons\u00a0Epoxy Resin Casting Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Start your project by making sure that the environment in which the casting resin is used is a very clean environment and will remain so for the 24 hours curing period. In India, due to inherent conditions and dust in our cities, lint or dust often settles on the casting resin during the curing time. This can be prevented by making sure a small box or cover is there to cover the project once its kept to cure.<\/li>\n
  2. Use Hand Sanitiser or Alcohol to clean the container in which the resin is poured.<\/li>\n
  3. Use the right amount of epoxy resin by estimating the amount of resin required. This can be done by pouring water in the mould and measuring the amount of water needed to fill up the mould. Thereafter, prepare the same amount of resin so that there is no wastage.<\/li>\n
  4. Note that water does not come in contact with the resin at all. It will make the resin cloudy and it will lose its clarity.<\/li>\n
  5. Use a hot water bath to warm the\u00a0resin containers before use if you have kept it in a cold place before use. This will prepare the epoxy resin and hardener to react readily with each other<\/li>\n
  6. Use the Sprayons Mould Releaser Spray<\/a> on the inner surfaces of the mould before pouring the resin. This will ensure easy removal of the cast once it has cured.<\/li>\n
  7. The surface that needs to be glossy should be left untouched or uncovered. This will give the best results in terms of gloss of the surface. In the picture below, we have poured some resin on a PVC cloth and let it cast. The resin in contact with the PVC cloth has become dull and has a matt finish which does not look like a finished surface. Whereas the top surface is a High gloss finish which actually is the kind of finish one would want from the Haksons Epoxy Resin.\n
